Position: Manager – Ceramic Mineral Development
Department: Technical / Product Development
Reporting To: HOD – Technical / Operations
Job Purpose
To lead composite mineral development for ceramic applications, optimize low-grade mineral utilization, manage product trials and customer sample analysis, and drive value-added product development while ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and business objectives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Financial Perspective
- Drive composite mineral development for ceramic applications.
- Develop new mineral-based products aligned with business goals.
- Ensure delivery of targeted number of new products as per annual plan.
- Maintain strict adherence to development timelines and cost parameters.
- Process Perspective
- Manage TAT (Turnaround Time) for customer/sample analysis and provide accurate grade recommendations.
- Standardize and simplify sample testing and evaluation processes.
- Ensure effective utilization of low-grade minerals for ceramic applications to enhance cost efficiency.
- Monitor and increase quantity (in tonnes) of low-grade minerals effectively utilized.
- Coordinate with laboratories and plant teams for product trials and testing.
- Ensure trials are conducted as per approved plans and timelines.
- Maintain proper documentation of trials, testing results, and process improvements.
- Customer Perspective
- Lead development of value-added ceramic products based on customer requirements.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to understand market needs.
- Provide technical inputs and customized solutions to customers.
- Ensure adherence to customer specifications and product performance standards.
- Project Perspective
- Provide technical support for ongoing and new ceramic applications.
- Explore new product applications and mineral combinations.
- Drive innovation initiatives for new market opportunities.
- Ensure project milestones and development timelines are achieved.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of composite mineral products developed.
- TAT for customer sample analysis.
- Quantity (tonnes) of low-grade minerals effectively utilized.
- Number of product trials completed as per plan.
- Number of value-added products developed.
- Adherence to project timelines and technical deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Ceramic Engineering, Mineral Processing, Material Science, or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in ceramic raw materials, mineral development, or product development.
